Journey to the Tournament of Roses Parade

Viewing the Floats December 30, 2009

After Bandfest, we got to see a couple of parade floats that are still frantically being finished up. It was pretty cool.

First we went past the cars that will carry Pasadena’s mayor, the parade’s grand marshal (Capt. Chesley Sullenberger, who landed that flight on the Hudson River), and the family of the Tournament of Roses parade.

Here is a jungle float we saw. On the last picture, note the detail of the snakeskin — it’s all fruit.

LOL I thought that the snakeskin was actually a pineapple float of some sort!! I see it now that I read that it was a snakeskin. I looked at the pictures before I read your comments. Thank you for posting.. heading to the Globe site now. : )

Emily,Thanks for posting pictures of the trip. You are doing a great job keeping us all informed. I know the parents have to be so proud of their kids. I am having fun looking at the pictures and seeing our students having a great time.
